Description of Service

As the central service center for Main and Branch Campuses, the Office for Academic Personnel (OAP) provides information to administrators, faculty and graduate student assistantship holders (TA, GA, RA, PA) to help them navigate policies and procedures that govern their rights and responsibilities as UNM employees. The Office oversees the processing of all personnel matters relevant to Main and Branch campus faculty as well as all graduate assistantship holders across the entire university.

It helps ensure compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws and regulations relevant to Main and Branch campus faculty and graduate assistants (TA, GA, RA, PA). The Office participates and collaborates in long-range planning and policy-making by implementing new academic personnel procedures and guidelines, and provides advice, support, training and professional education relative to academic personnel matters for the academic community.

What to expect when requesting assistance

-Response time 2 business days

-the department will need the banner ID and employee name to assist with any inquiries

-the department will also need the service ticket number from the Smartsheet.  The Smartsheet is how job actions should be submitted. The Smartsheet can be found on the OAP home page at: https://oap.unm.edu/index.html
