Description of Service
The Labor and Employee Relations (LER) staff work with employees and supervisors in support of promoting a respectful and fair workplace. In LER we primarily:
- Conduct investigations regarding employment concerns involving staff, submitted through the EthicsPoint Hotline system,
- Interpret and negotiate staff union contracts,
- Provide guidance throughout the union grievance process
- Provide Federal and State Mandatory Posters to departments and,
- Manage UNM’s drug testing program for all mandated federal DOT employees.

What to expect when requesting assistance
LER will respond within 1-2 business days to emails received during the business week.
If the inquiry is not a matter within LER’s purview it will be referred to the appropriate area and you will be notified of the referral.
